Stardew Valley Community Center Bundles Guide: A First-Year Completion Route
A season-by-season route for finishing every Community Center bundle in year one, with fish windows and Traveling Cart backup buys.
The Community Center is Stardew's big year-one project, and it's more of a calendar game than a grind. Thirty bundles sit across six rooms, and most of the items are tied to a season, a weather type, or a farm system that takes weeks to build. Plan the year around those windows and the whole thing can wrap before Winter 28. Wing it and you end up waiting out a second year for one fish or one stubborn crop.
Getting in takes a few steps. Walk into Pelican Town from the bus stop on a sunny day, any day from Spring 5 on, between 8am and 1pm, and Lewis shows you around. Go back inside afterward and poke the golden scroll in the lower-left room. The next morning brings a letter from the Wizard, so visit his tower in Cindersap Forest and drink what he hands you. After that you can read every scroll in the building. One warning first, though: a 5,000g JojaMart membership turns the whole place into a warehouse and deletes the bundles permanently. Pick a side before Morris sees your wallet.
Pick Standard or Remixed Bundles
When you create a farm, the advanced options screen has a Remixed Bundles checkbox. That's the only moment the choice exists. You can't swap it later on a save.
Standard is the fixed classic set: 30 bundles in 6 rooms, same list every time. For a first-year run, that predictability is the whole point. You know exactly what's coming, so you can front-load the slow stuff (trees, animals, tappers) and let the seasons hand you the rest.
Here's what clearing each room gets you:
| Room | Bundles | Room reward | | --- | --- | --- | | Crafts Room | 6 | Bridge to the Quarry, east of the mines | | Pantry | 6 | Greenhouse on your farm | | Fish Tank | 6 | Glittering Boulder removed, panning opens up | | Boiler Room | 3 | Minecarts repaired (Bus Stop, Mines, Quarry, Town stops) | | Bulletin Board | 5 | Two friendship hearts with every villager you've met | | Vault | 4 | Bus to Calico Desert |
Rooms also open up one at a time as you finish bundles anywhere in the building. The Crafts Room is there from day one. The Pantry and Fish Tank appear after your first bundle, the Boiler Room after two, the Bulletin Board after three, and the Vault after four. Early donations snowball, since more visible scrolls means more places to park whatever your day produced.
What remixed actually changes
Remixed gives every room a mix of permanent bundles and random ones, so two remixed farms can ask for completely different things. Some of the randoms are spicy. The Rare Crops Bundle wants an Ancient Fruit and a Sweet Gem Berry, and both are slow even in a good year. The Master Fisher's Bundle needs a Lava Eel off mine floor 100, a Scorpion Carp, an Octopus, and a Blobfish that only comes off the Night Market submarine ride. The Boiler Room draws 3 of its 5 possible bundles, and the Treasure Hunter's and Engineer's options want gem sets, iridium ore, and battery packs. The Bulletin Board draws 5 from a pool of about a dozen, which can spare you the Red Cabbage hunt or bury you in oddball asks like an Ancient Doll artifact.
Some swaps are honestly easier, though. The Garden Bundle is just five flowers, a picnic next to the Animal Bundle. The Brewer's Bundle takes keg products and skips the fruit tree math entirely. So who should tick the remixed box? Mostly players on their second or third farm who want surprises. For a clean first-year route, take standard.
The year-one toggle
Sitting near the remixed option is a Guarantee Year 1 Completable box. Tick it and the game promises the Traveling Cart will sell Red Cabbage Seeds on exactly one visit, sometime between its second stop (Spring 7) and its thirtieth (Winter 16 at the Night Market). The day gets rolled when the save is created and it doesn't repeat, so skip a Friday or Sunday browse and you can miss your one shot. Worth ticking if you'd rather not gamble the Dye Bundle on cart luck.
Spring Crop and Forage Targets
Spring has two jobs: knock out the free stuff, and make the one decision that shapes the whole Pantry.
The Spring Foraging Bundle wants Wild Horseradish, Daffodil, Leek, and Dandelion, and all four are required. They're scattered around town, the backwoods, and the forest all month, so this one is basically free. The Spring Crops Bundle wants one each of Parsnip, Green Bean, Cauliflower, and Potato, again all four. Plant in the first week: parsnips pop in 4 days (seeds cost 20g), potatoes take 6, green beans 10, and cauliflower needs 12. Green beans grow on a trellis you can't walk through, so leave yourself a path.
The gold parsnip decision
Quality Crops is the bundle that stresses people out, so here's the exact shape of it. Four gold-quality sets get listed: five gold Parsnips, five gold Melons, five gold Pumpkins, five gold Corn. The bundle has three slots. You pick any three.
Since melon, corn, and pumpkin can all be handled in summer and fall, skipping parsnips outright is legal. The catch is timing. Without parsnips you need the pumpkin set, so the bundle can't close until fall. Bank five gold parsnips in spring and parsnip plus corn plus melon can finish it by the end of summer, months earlier. Parsnips are also the cheapest seeds around and a 4-day crop, so one patch can run two or three rounds in a single spring.
Either way, plant more than you think you need and hold every gold star you pull. Lay down fertilizer before seeding and keep leveling Farming, since both push the gold odds up. A better star counts too. The bundle won't turn its nose up at iridium.
Fish worth a spring trip
A few bundle fish are spring-friendly. Sunfish bite in rivers from 6am to 7pm on sunny days, spring and summer only. When it rains, camp the river for Catfish (6am to midnight, spring and fall) and Shad (9am to 2am, spring through fall). Sardines come off the beach pier in spring, fall, and winter. Bream hit the river every evening of every season, and Chub are basically everywhere. Field Research wants one of those Chub.
Slow things to start now
- Tappers. The recipe unlocks at Foraging level 4, each tapper costs 40 wood and 2 copper bars, and they keep working through winter. A maple tree takes 9 nights per syrup, oak takes 7 per resin, pine takes 5 per tar. Chef's wants the syrup, Enchanter's wants the resin, and Exotic Foraging happily eats all three.
- Tree saplings. Pierre sells the Apple Sapling for 4,000g and the Pomegranate Sapling for 6,000g, and fruit trees need 28 days to mature. They grow in any season, so a spring or early-summer planting fruits all fall. Fodder wants three apples, Enchanter's wants a pomegranate.
- The farm cave. Demetrius offers mushrooms or fruit bats. Mushrooms quietly hand you Common, Red, and Purple Mushrooms, which cover slots in three different bundles. Fruit bats occasionally drop apples and pomegranates, which can bail you out if a tree slips. Mushrooms cover more ground, but neither pick is wrong.
- Mining as usual. Copper and iron bars, quartz, earth crystals, slime, and bat wings all stack toward the Boiler Room without any dedicated trips.
Summer Fish and Crop Targets
Summer carries the Pantry and most of the Fish Tank.
The Summer Crops Bundle wants one each of Tomato, Hot Pepper, Blueberry, and Melon, all four required. Simple. The real summer job is the gold melon set for Quality Crops, so plant a wide fertilized patch (seeds run 80g, 12 days to fruit) and hold back every gold one. Get corn in the ground now too. It grows in summer and fall, needs 14 days, and one planting can feed both the Fall Crops Bundle and your gold corn set. Sow a strip of wheat while you're at it; it's a 4-day crop with 10g seeds, and Fodder wants ten. A few poppies (7 days) cover Chef's, and sunflowers for the Dye Bundle grow in summer or fall.
The summer fishing board
| Fish | Where | When | The catch | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | Sunfish | Rivers | 6am-7pm | Sunny days only | | Pufferfish | Ocean | 12pm-4pm | Sunny summer days only | | Tilapia | Ocean | 6am-2pm | Summer and fall | | Red Snapper | Ocean | 6am-7pm | Rain only, summer and fall | | Tuna | Ocean | 6am-7pm | Also catches in winter | | Sturgeon | Mountain lake | 6am-7pm | Also catches in winter | | Shad | Rivers | 9am-2am | Rain only | | Ghostfish | Mines, floors 20 and 60 | Anytime | Ghosts drop them too | | Woodskip | Secret Woods pond | Anytime | Needs a Steel Axe to reach |
Pufferfish is the diva of that list, a four-hour sunny window, so don't leave it for the last week of summer. Sturgeon and tuna both get a second chance in winter, so no panic there.
Two errands that matter
First, get the Steel Axe (five iron bars to Clint). It opens the Secret Woods, and that place is a bundle vending machine in summer. The pond holds the Woodskip, the six big stumps regrow daily for 12 hardwood a day (Construction wants 10), and summer forage there is about 78% Fiddlehead Fern. Chef's needs one, it only shows up in summer, and the Secret Woods is the only steady source. Grab two or three for safety.
Second, start checking the Traveling Cart every Friday and Sunday if you've been lax about it. Red Cabbage seeds don't reach Pierre's shelves until year two, and the Dye Bundle needs the crop. Cart stock is the fix, and summer is when you want to find it.
While you're spending: ducks need a Big Coop (10,000g plus 400 wood and 150 stone) and happy ducks drop the feathers Dye wants. That's a lot of building for one item, so it's a fair candidate to buy from the cart instead. The Maki Roll for Chef's works the same way. The recipe comes from the Queen of Sauce TV show or the Saloon, but the cart sells finished Maki Rolls straight up if the recipe never shows. Fried Egg, luckily, is just one egg and a recipe you already own.
Fall and Winter Bottlenecks
Fall is load-bearing. Nearly everything that can slip does its slipping here.
The Fall Crops Bundle wants one each of Corn, Eggplant, Pumpkin, and Yam. Easy, as long as the corn went in during summer. Plant pumpkins wide and fertilized for the gold set (13 days a round, 100g seeds), because this is your fallback if the melon or parsnip sets came up short. The apple and pomegranate trees finally start earning too, covering Fodder and Enchanter's.
The rainy-day jackpot
Rain in fall is the best bundle weather of the year. Walleye, Eel, Catfish, Shad, and Red Snapper are all rain-gated, and fall is the last comfortable window for most of them. One good storm can knock out a whole row: Walleye in rivers, the mountain lake, or the forest pond from noon to 2am; Eel in the ocean from 4pm to 2am; Tiger Trout in rivers 6am to 7pm through fall and winter; Bream in any river after 6pm. Winter keeps a shorter list open (Sturgeon, Tiger Trout, Sardine, Tuna, Bream), which is exactly why the Fish Tank usually closes in late fall or early winter.
Animals and the artisan math
The Animal Bundle lists six products and takes five of them. Large Milk and Large Eggs are friendship checks on cows and chickens you've petted all year. Large Goat Milk needs goats, which need a Big Barn (12,000g, 450 wood, 200 stone). Wool comes off sheep or rabbits, and rabbits need the Deluxe Coop (20,000g, 500 wood, 200 stone). Rabbits also eventually produce the Rabbit's Foot that Enchanter's wants, though a serpent in the Skull Cavern drops one about 0.8% of the time if you'd rather gamble down there.
Chef's is the sneaky one. All six of its items are required, and that includes a Truffle and a Maki Roll. Pigs find truffles on dry days, stay inside all winter, and need a Deluxe Barn, which runs 25,000g plus 550 wood and 300 stone. For a single truffle that's brutal, and it's the classic spot to just buy from the Traveling Cart instead.
The Artisan Bundle is friendlier than it looks, at least. Twelve items listed, six slots to fill. Cheese, Goat Cheese, Honey, Jelly, Apple, and Cloth get you there with no pig ever involved. Honey literally comes from the Bee House the Fall Crops Bundle hands you, and Jelly wants the Preserves Jar you got from Quality Crops. Cloth is wool through a Loom, or soggy newspaper through a Recycling Machine. Truffle Oil can stay unbuilt.
Boiler Room and the deep stuff
By now the mines should be deep enough for the rest. Fire Quartz spawns on floors 81-119 and Void Essence drops off the shadow critters down there, which finishes Geologist's and Adventurer's. Field Research wants a Frozen Geode from floors 41-79, a Purple Mushroom from the deep floors (or your mushroom cave), a Chub, and a Nautilus Shell. Krobus in the sewers sells both essences if the lower mines are roughing you up.
Note that the cart never sells Quartz, Earth Crystal, Frozen Tear, Fire Quartz, Frozen Geode, or Hay. Those slots are earned the old way, always.
The Vault wall, then the desert
The Vault is four buttons: 2,500g, 5,000g, 10,000g, and 25,000g, totaling 42,500g. It's the biggest single wall in a first-year run, and summer blueberries plus fall pumpkins are how you clear it. Push to finish before winter, because the desert holds three bundle items: Coconut and Cactus Fruit for Exotic Foraging, and the Sandfish for Specialty Fish. The wiki's own note here is blunt. The Specialty Fish Bundle can't finish before the Vault does, unless the cart happens to stock a Sandfish.
Winter is cleanup season
Winter Root, Crystal Fruit, and Crocus sit on the ground for the taking. Snow Yams hide under tilled dirt and artifact spots, so hoe over every wiggly stem you spot. Floors 41-79 of the mines double-dip the season too, since Blue Slimes there drop Winter Roots and Dust Sprites drop Crystal Fruit. Nautilus Shells wash up on the winter beach, which fills Field Research's last slot. The Night Market runs Winter 15-17 with its own Traveling Cart stall from 5pm to 2am, one extra set of dice rolls for anything still missing.
And if something truly slipped, winter is when you find out. The year-two wait list is short but painful: gold parsnips, Pufferfish, Fiddlehead Fern, and the spring-only river fish.
Traveling Cart and Missable Items
The cart sets up in Cindersap Forest every Friday and Sunday, 6am to 8pm. Think of it as the pressure valve for the whole route. Stock is roughly ten random items plus a furniture piece, with an occasional special on the side, and prices swing hard. Sometimes you find a deal under list price. Usually it's the opposite.
What a rescue roughly costs:
| Item | Cart price range | | --- | --- | | Red Cabbage Seeds | 150-1,000g | | Red Cabbage | 780-1,300g | | Apple | 300-1,000g | | Pomegranate | 420-1,000g | | Snow Yam | 300-1,000g | | Nautilus Shell | 360-1,000g | | Duck Feather | 750-1,250g | | Rabbit's Foot | 1,695-2,825g | | Truffle | 1,875-3,125g | | Maki Roll | 660-1,100g | | Coconut | 300-1,000g | | Sandfish | 225-1,000g |
Everything the cart sells is normal quality, which is fine, since quality only matters for bundles that ask for it.
The real missable list
- Five gold parsnips, if you're taking the early-finish route. Spring only.
- Pufferfish (summer, sunny, noon to 4pm) and Tilapia (summer or fall, before 2pm).
- Fiddlehead Fern. Secret Woods, summer only.
- Walleye, Eel, Catfish, Shad, and Red Snapper, all rain-gated, with fall the last easy window for walleye and eel.
- Red Cabbage. Seeds are year two at Pierre's, so it's cart or bust.
- Apples and pomegranates. The trees take 28 days, so saplings need to be in the ground by midsummer.
- Winter Root, Crystal Fruit, Snow Yam, Crocus, and Nautilus Shell. Winter only.
- Sandfish. Desert only, so it's Vault dependent.
Small tricks that pay off
Hover any item in your inventory and the golden scroll icon on your menu pulses if a bundle wants it. Free, instant checklist. The cart also shows up at the Desert Festival (Spring 15-17) in later years, though by then you're presumably past needing it.
One quirky side effect of finishing fast: the Bulletin Board heart bonus only reaches villagers you've met, and Kent doesn't move back until Spring 1 of year two. Beat that date and he starts at zero hearts. Your call on whether two hearts with Kent is worth stretching the project.
Drop in the final item and the Junimos restore the building overnight. Walk into town on the next sunny day for the ceremony, pocket the Stardew Hero trophy and the Local Legend achievement, and enjoy Pierre finally opening his shop on Wednesdays.
